Don Toliver, born Caleb Zackery Toliver on June 12, 1994 in Houston, Texas, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He grew up in the Alief neighborhood of Houston and was exposed to music at home, as his father "Bongo" had also been involved in the local rap and R&B scene. Citing influences ranging from the Isley Brothers and Marvin Gaye to Lenny Kravitz, N.E.R.D. and Sade, Toliver developed a melodic, genre bending approach that blends rap, R&B and psychedelic elements. He began releasing music in 2017 with the mixtape "Playa Familia" alongside Yungjosh93.
