Solar
Solar, whose real name is Karol Poziemski, is a Polish rapper, freestyle performer, entrepreneur and executive producer, born in Warsaw on 29 October 1989. He is known for his long-running partnership with Białas, his solo recordings, co-founding SBM Label and creating Hot16Challenge. His work extends beyond performing: he helps build the recording and business infrastructure of Polish rap, combining his artistic career with music projects and artist development. He is also one of the owners of Warsaw’s NOBOCOTO Studio. His career began in freestyle rap - the art of improvising lyrics in real time. Solar competed in national battles, reaching the finals of Wielka Bitwa Warszawska in 2008 and 2009. Quick...
Artist Trivia
- His earliest confirmed release, 2008’s “Kwadrans EP”, was made with Soulpete. “Klub 27” is therefore his official solo album debut, not the beginning of his recording career.
- He recorded “Na fali” in about a month, describing it as a spontaneous, upbeat mixtape built around observations, wordplay and punchlines.
- He also works behind the mixing desk. NOBOCOTO’s portfolio credits him with mixing, mastering or recording work on Quebonafide releases including “Egzotyka”, “Ezoteryka” and “Hip Hop 2.0”.
- He has described the “Iskry” series from 2014–2015 as the project that restored his confidence in his career after he had considered giving up rap.
