Błażej Król
Błażej Król is a Polish composer, singer, guitarist, and lyricist who in recent years has grown into one of the most important figures in Polish alternative music. He was born on 9 February 1984 in Gorzów Wielkopolski, and it was there that his artistic path began. The first important stage was the band Kawałek Kulki, founded in 2001. That was where his musical and lyrical language began to take shape, based on unusual melody, poetic sensitivity, and an increasingly strong authorial identity. He later also developed through the duo UL/KR and the project Kobieta z Wydm, which shows that before stepping forward as a solo artist, he moved through several meaningful collaborative forms. Artist Trivia
- Before becoming mainly known as KRÓL, he worked in the band Kawałek Kulki, which he co-founded and which became an important starting point for his style.
- He later also co-created the duo UL/KR with Maurycy Kiebzak-Górski and the project Kobieta z Wydm, so his path to solo work was gradual rather than sudden.
- His 2014 solo debut “Nielot” launched a very consistent sequence of albums that built Król’s recognizable language as a writer of intimate, unusual, yet melodic songs.
- In 2019 he received the Paszport Polityki, and in 2020 a Fryderyk in the Author of the Year category, which shows that he was recognized both for musical form and lyrical writing.
