De Mono
De Mono grew out of the band Mono, founded in 1984 by Marek Kościkiewicz, Piotr Kubiaczyk and Dariusz Krupicz. In 1987, the lineup expanded to include Andrzej Krzywy, Jacek Perkowski and Robert Chojnacki, and with that change the group adopted the name De Mono, entering the phase that audiences now recognize as the true beginning of its public story. The first concert under the De Mono name took place in Warsaw in June 1987, and only two years later the band released “Kochać inaczej”, the album that immediately lifted it into the top tier of Polish popular music. The success of songs such as “Kochać inaczej”, followed by “Moje miasto nocą” and “Zostańmy sami”, made De Mono one of the key Polish pop-rock...

- The debut album “Kochać inaczej” became such a major success that its title track stayed on Polish Radio Three’s chart for more than a year and entered the canon of Polish pop-rock.
- The 1990 tour promoting “Oh Yeah!” is described in the band’s official history as one of the biggest music events of that year and one of the earliest highly professional concert tours of its kind in Poland.
- De Mono became the first Polish act to win an MTV award in the Local Hero category, a milestone that strongly marked the band’s international visibility in the 1990s.
- The album “Stop” was a turning point both artistically and commercially, reaching double platinum status and delivering songs such as “Znów jesteś ze mną”, “Statki na niebie” and “Ostatni pocałunek”.
