Hey was formed in 1992 in Szczecin by Piotr Banach and quickly became one of the most important new names on the Polish rock scene. The first lineup included Katarzyna Nosowska, Marcin Żabiełowicz, Robert Ligiewicz and initially Marcin Macuk, who was later replaced by Jacek Chrzanowski. An early breakthrough came when the band received the journalists’ award at the Jarocin festival, which led to a contract with Izabelin Studio.
