Jano Polska Wersja is a Warsaw rapper best known to the wider public as one half of the duo Polska Wersja, created together with Hinol. Within that project, he developed a recognizable style built on street rap delivered in a more melodic and less vulgar form than many classic versions of that lane. Before Polska Wersja existed, Jano was recording his first verses on home equipment, downloading beats from the internet, and working in a crew called WPW, which he later jokingly described as the seed of PW.
His first “real album” was preceded by a period in the group TZWM, which he knew from the neighborhood and treated as an important entry into more serious recording.
From the beginning, Polska Wersja was meant to present street rap in a less vulgar and more melodic form, and Jano described that direction as a conscious artistic choice.
Jano’s solo path has been highly consistent, because after “Senna Powieka” he followed with “Inna Wizja,” “Hipnoza,” and “Róża wiatrów,” showing that he is more than just one half of a duo.
