Krystyna Sienkiewicz was one of the most distinctive personalities in Polish theatre, film, television and cabaret, and at the same time an important interpreter of actorly and literary song. She was born on 14 February 1935 in Ostrów Mazowiecka and died on 12 February 2017 in Warsaw. Her path to the stage was unusual, because she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw rather than from a theatre school. Even so, she made her debut in 1957 at the Students’ Satirical Theatre, a crucial starting point for her artistic career.
