Piotr Szczepanik
Piotr Szczepanik was a Polish singer, guitarist, and actor born in 1942 in Lublin, and his earliest artistic experiences were closely tied to that city. After finishing school, he worked with the Lublin Puppet and Actor Theatre and later studied art history at the Catholic University of Lublin. He first developed his stage career in the “Czart” cabaret and the “Dren 59” student theatre, and made his nationwide breakthrough in 1963 at the student singers’ competition in Kraków. Soon after, through cooperation with Andrzej Korzyński and the groups Ricercar ’64 and Tajfuny, he recorded songs that brought him major recognition.
