Vienio, born Piotr Więcławski, is one of the most recognizable figures of classic Warsaw hip-hop. He is best remembered as a co-founder of Molesta Ewenement, the group that helped define the language of Polish street rap in the late 1990s. His musical start is safest to place in the mid-1990s, while the phonographic breakthrough is most clearly tied to the 1998 album “Skandal.” Through Molesta’s activity, Vienio became one of the faces of the first generation of rappers who built a lasting foundation for the later mainstream of the genre.
