Anna Gadt, born Anna Stępniewska-Gadt, is a Polish jazz singer, improviser, pianist and composer associated with the European contemporary and improvised jazz scene. From the beginning, her artistic identity has stood out because she treats the voice not merely as a vehicle for melody and text, but as a full creative instrument of improvisation. That approach has made her one of the more distinctive figures in Polish jazz vocalism. Her safest confirmed recording debut is the 2009 album “Still I Rise”. In the years that followed, she expanded her catalogue to eight albums, developing a musical language rooted in formal freedom, compositional sensitivity and openness to experiment.
