Mietek Szcześniak
Mietek Szcześniak, whose full name is Mieczysław Wojciech Szcześniak, is a Polish singer, composer and lyricist, born in Kalisz on 9 July 1964. His music brings together soul, gospel, jazz, pop and bossa nova. He is known for his own songs, duets, film recordings and projects with choirs and orchestras. Collaborations with American musicians have been particularly important, allowing him to explore soul and gospel as a songwriter and co-producer as well as a performer. He began performing publicly at the age of six with the group Ikary. In the 1980s, he joined the Wrocław band Funk Factory, making his first recordings for Polish Radio in Szczecin in 1984. His breakthrough came at the Opole festival’s debut...
