Antek Smykiewicz
Antek Smykiewicz, born Antoni Smykiewicz, is a Polish singer, songwriter and composer from Warsaw, known mainly for pop, while also carrying a distinct rock background from an earlier phase of his career. His public profile was built through a mix of stage charisma, live experience and television exposure, but the sources show that he reached that point gradually rather than appearing overnight. The safest point for the start of his artistic career is around 2010, when he was already active as the vocalist and co-founder of Ściana Wschodnia. Artist Trivia
- Before his nationwide solo breakthrough, he supported himself in part by hosting karaoke events in Warsaw, and his official biography says he entered TV talent shows in between those live jobs.
- His rise was not built around just one format, because he was a finalist in the first season of “The Voice of Poland” and later also reached the semi-finals of the seventh season of “Must Be The Music”.
- Before releasing the pop material that made him widely known, he fronted his own band Ściana Wschodnia, performing garage rock while simultaneously working on his first solo album.
- The single “Pomimo Burz” became a real turning point very quickly, because his official site states that within three months it had reached No. 1 on the BMAT ranking of the most-played songs on Polish radio.
