Hinol Polska Wersja, born Łukasz Siedlecki, is a Warsaw rapper most strongly associated with being one half of the duo Polska Wersja, while also maintaining a clearly developed solo path. Together with Jano, he co-created a project that from 2012 onward built a form of street rap that was more melodic and less dependent on straightforward vulgarity than many similar acts. The safest musical debut date is therefore 2012, because that was when he began his artistic activity as a co-creator of Polska Wersja. Hinol and Jano met in Natolin, in a club for troubled youth, and that was the environment in which the first foundations of Polska Wersja were formed.
In interviews and local features, Hinol openly said that he grew up without a father and that hip-hop replaced some of the life models he lacked, which helps explain the emotional weight of many of his songs.
From the start, Polska Wersja aimed to deliver street rap in a less vulgar and more melodic form, which became one of the defining features of both Hinol and Jano.
After the success of the duo’s first records, Hinol built a strong solo line faster than many listeners may have expected, including the albums “Mej Duszy Dziecko,” “Od końca do początku,” “Na waszych oczach,” and “Coś mi mówi.”
