She was born on 22 April 1955 in Olsztyn as Izabela Ludwika Schütz, and sources connect her musical debut with a 1971 appearance as a member of a cathedral choir at the Sacrosong festival. Her major musical breakthrough was closely tied to cooperation with Romuald Lipko and the Budka Suflera circle, which helped shape her best-known repertoire.
Songs such as “Wszystko, czego dziś chcę” and “Tyle samo prawd, ile kłamstw” became not only hits but also some of the most recognizable female pop-rock anthems in Poland in the early 1980s.
After her early stage success, she left Poland and spent years living abroad, including in West Berlin, which clearly divided her career into distinct phases.
For younger generations, she is also strongly associated with television, since she has played Monika Ross-Nawrot in the long-running series Klan since 1997.
