Michał Wiśniewski is a Polish singer, lyricist and media personality best known as the frontman of Ich Troje, the band he co-founded in 1994 with Jacek Łągwa. Over the years he became one of the most recognizable figures in Polish popular music, combining band work, solo releases and television presence with a highly distinctive stage image. His greatest fame came through Ich Troje, with whom he released a series of major albums, including “Ad. 4” and “Po piąte... a niech gadają,” both of which achieved diamond certification. Artist Trivia
- Before founding Ich Troje, Michał Wiśniewski and Jacek Łągwa opened the first karaoke club in Poland, and the venue’s popularity helped lead directly to the creation of the band.
- Ich Troje’s debut single “Prawo” was based on a poem by Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, which is a very unusual starting point for what later became a mass-market pop phenomenon.
- The song “Prawo” stayed at number one on the Muzyczna Jedynka chart for 16 weeks, showing how strongly the project entered the mainstream at an early stage.
- Michał Wiśniewski is one of the very few Polish artists to have represented Poland at Eurovision twice, and the band’s 7th place in 2003 remained one of Poland’s strongest historical results for many years.
