Ania Dąbrowska, born Anna Monika Dąbrowska, is one of the key figures of twenty-first century Polish pop, combining accessibility with songwriting authorship and a distinctive melancholic softness. She was born in Chełm, and before entering nationwide visibility she developed musically as the singer of 4 Pory RoQ while also learning double bass and bass guitar. Wider audiences discovered her in 2002 through the first season of “Idol,” where she reached the final ten and finished eighth.
