Jotuze
Jotuze, born Marcin Józwa, is a Warsaw rapper and one of the important figures of classic Polish hip-hop, above all as a member of Grammatik. From the beginning, his work was associated with the more reflective and alternative side of rap, focused more on atmosphere, language, and personal tone than on straightforward forcefulness. The safest musical debut date is 1997, because that is the point from which sources date his activity and presence in Grammatik. With the group, he co-created releases such as “EP+,” “Światła miasta,” “3,” and “Podróże,” all of which became part of Polish rap history. - For years, Jotuze was one of the most respected yet also most withdrawn figures of classic Polish rap, because after Grammatik’s success he did not immediately pursue a regular solo career.
- In 2019 he openly said that despite many years on the scene he still did not have a fully authored solo album recorded on his own, which shows how long he postponed that step.
- His return under his own name finally came in 2022, when he joined StoproRap and released the album “EP 202+.”
- The title “EP 202+” clearly references Grammatik’s 1999 release “EP+,” so even the name itself builds a bridge between his classic era and his mature comeback.
