L.U.C., the artistic alias of Łukasz Rostkowski, is one of the most unconventional figures in Polish music of the last two decades, moving between rap, electronics, film scoring, educational projects, and multimedia performance. He was born on October 16, 1981 in Zielona Góra, graduated in law from the University of Wrocław, and has long been strongly associated with Wrocław. He received the Polityka Passport in 2010 for his innovative blending of disciplines and genres, which shows that he has long been seen as more than just a rapper.
The album “PyyKyCyKyTyPff” was highly unusual in the Polish market, because every track was created without traditional instruments, using only processed voice.
A major part of his career has been devoted to educational and historical works such as “39/89 – Zrozumieć Polskę” and “Warsaw WAR/SAW. Zrozumieć Polskę”, projects that combined music, archives, narration, and Polish history in a modern audio-drama format.
