Kury

Kury is a Polish band founded in June 1992 by Ryszard “Tymon” Tymański, most often described as coming from Sopot or, more broadly, the Tricity area. From the beginning, the group was strongly tied to yass, one of the most original and unruly movements in Polish music of the 1990s. The first lineup included Tymański, Jacek Olter and Piotr Pawlak, and the band quickly developed its own language built on irony, experimentation and free mixing of styles. It was never easy to classify, because alongside rock it drew on jazz, avant-garde ideas and electronic processing. The key moment in Kury’s history came with the 1998 album “P.O.L.O.V.I.R.U.S.”.
