Michał Jelonek
Michał Jelonek is a Polish violinist, composer, arranger and session musician who has consistently combined classical training with rock and metal performance since the late 1980s. Born on 30 May 1971 in Kielce, he graduated from the local music school as a violin major and, by the early 1990s, was active both in the classical field and on the rock scene. His career has been continuous since 1989, which makes him one of the most experienced and versatile violin players operating within Polish guitar‑based music. He first gained wider recognition as a member of the Kielce‑based band Ankh, with whom he won awards at the Jarocin festival and the Złoty Bączek prize at Przystanek Woodstock in the mid‑1990s. In...

- In 1993, the magazine “Tylko Rock” and the “Rock ’94 Siedlce” poll voted Michał Jelonek the best Polish instrumentalist, even before his full involvement in metal.
- He has received the Złoty Bączek award at Przystanek Woodstock four times: twice with Ankh (1995, 1996), once with Hunter (2004) and once as a solo artist under his own name (2010).
