Numer Raz, born Michał Antoni Witak, is one of the pioneers of Polish hip-hop and a major figure in the classic Warsaw rap scene. Sources state that he has been making music since 1993, placing him within the very early generation of Polish rap artists. Before his name became permanently linked with Warszafski Deszcz, he was active in groups such as Quit New Sort, Traials X, and Chuzdemak. During that period, he and DJ Zero recorded a track for Smak Beat Records, described as the first official Polish hip-hop compilation, and later both joined MOP Skład. Before becoming permanently associated with Warszafski Deszcz, he started out with groups such as Quit New Sort, Traials X, and later Chuzdemak, moving through several important but now less frequently discussed stages of the Warsaw underground.
Together with DJ Zero, he recorded a track for Smak Beat Records, described as the first official Polish hip-hop compilation, which places him very early in the formal release history of the scene.
He and DJ Zero later joined MOP Skład, a collective of young Warsaw rappers that also included members connected to 3H.
In January 2004, he released “Muzyka, Bloki, Skręty,” his first own album made together with DJ Zero, with guest appearances from members of Sistars.
