Pono
Pono was one of the important figures of Polish street rap, most strongly connected with Warsaw and with the circle that produced TPWC, ZIP Skład and Zipera. His significance came not only from membership in cult groups, but also from a personal style that later sources described as individual, rhythmically dense and firmly rooted in the hard edged, confrontational side of rap. The safest starting point for his career is 1996, when he formed TPWC with Wojtek Sokół. Artist Trivia
- Before building a full solo catalogue, he first established his position as one half of TPWC with Wojtek Sokół, and that project opened the way to his later work in ZIP Skład and Zipera.
- He co created ZIP Skład, a crew widely treated as one of the pioneers of street rap in Poland, which places him close to the foundations of that branch of Polish hip-hop.
- From 1999 onward he was active, with breaks, in Zipera, one of the most important spin off groups to emerge from the ZIP Skład circle.
- The track “W aucie”, recorded within TPWC, became one of the most recognisable songs associated with his name and remains one of the key reference points in his catalogue.
