Rest, born Damian Oskar Osytek, is a Warsaw rapper primarily associated with the street-oriented branch of Polish hip-hop and the Dixon37 collective. His style is built on forceful, technically focused delivery, hard-hitting beats and lyrics that address neighbourhood experience, persistence, respect, family and personal responsibility. Rest is a co-founder of the DIXON37 clothing brand, established in 2008. The brand grew alongside the rap crew of the same name and became an important part of the group’s identity beyond music.
Before focusing on solo releases, he built his reputation through several Warsaw-based crews, including Benzyna, Szybki Szmal, Dixon37, Załoga and Zjednoczony Ursynów. This long-running collective background is central to his place within Polish rap.
Rest’s relationship with Dixon37 extends beyond recording music. Early in his career, he worked with the crew on the albums “Lot na całe życie” and “OZNZ”, and later helped develop its clothing brand.
His first full solo album, “Wiara, nadzieja, miłość”, was released by Step Records in 2015. It reached No. 10 on Poland’s OLiS chart and received a gold certification.
