Tomasz Budzyński
Tomasz Budzyński is one of the defining figures of Polish punk rock and alternative rock, best known as a co-founder and long-time leader of Armia, but just as important as the former singer of Siekiera, a member of 2Tm2,3, and an artist active in painting, poetry, and solo work. He is a Polish rock and punk vocalist, lyricist, poet, and painter whose career runs through several key chapters of Poland’s independent music history. He is most strongly associated with Armia, yet his breakthrough came earlier, when he made his stage debut as Siekiera’s singer in 1984 and became widely noticed around the Jarocin scene. Artist Trivia
- A year after Siekiera’s breakthrough around Jarocin, he co-founded Armia, the band that radically expanded both the scale and the artistic language of his work.
- In 2009 he founded the cultural association Niewidzialna Armia and became its president, showing that his work extended well beyond performing music.
- He co-directed the film “Podróż na Wschód” and also appeared in it as the character known as the Tea Man.
- In the Rimbaud project, he teamed up with Mikołaj Trzaska and Michał Jacaszek, building the collaboration around interpretations of Arthur Rimbaud’s poetry.
