Trzeci Wymiar
Trzeci Wymiar is a hip hop group from Wałbrzych that emerged from the local late 1990s scene and went on to become one of the key Polish classic rap crews, known for technical flows, conceptual albums and a strong small city perspective. The group was formed in 1998, initially under the name Poetikanonim, by rappers Patrycjusz “Nullo” Kochanowski and Michał “Szad” Baryła, with Wojciech “Pork” Szymański soon joining them to complete what would become the core line up of Trzeci Wymiar. Their early work was released as Peo Ete Ik, with several demo recordings sent to labels, which eventually led to a record deal and the decision to rebrand as Trzeci Wymiar. - Trzeci Wymiar directly evolved from the earlier project Peo Ete Ik, with the Trzeci Wymiar name being adopted only for the material prepared for their debut album, highlighting the project’s gradual formation.
- Their debut “Cztery pory rapu” was among the first Polish rap records to be built around a clear conceptual division into climate based parts rather than simply a collection of unrelated tracks.
- According to Nullo’s biographical notes, the debut sold around 24,000 copies, which is a strong achievement for a classic, technically oriented rap album in early 2000s Poland.
- Official and semi official materials frequently describe Trzeci Wymiar as a group that “was ahead of its time” and “revolutionised” Polish hip hop, a narrative echoed in videos and commentary dedicated to the group.
