VNM, born Tomasz Lewandowski, is a Polish rapper and lyricist born on 25 January 1984 in Elbląg. He belongs to the group of artists who built their reputation first on technical ability, strong writing, and years of underground work before broader recognition arrived. The safest year to mark as the beginning of his music career is 2000, because that is when sources place the start of his hip-hop activity. VNM was the first, and according to some sources for a long time the only Polish rapper to land on the cover of a hip-hop magazine without having an official label debut album.
Before fully establishing himself as a solo artist, he worked in the groups K2F and 834, so his story did not begin directly with the better-known solo phase.
A key early milestone was winning the 2005 demo of the year competition with 834 in a contest organized by Radio Wudoo, which helped push him into wider rap circulation.
His 2007 project “Na szlaku po czek” strengthened his underground standing before he entered Prosto and released his official label debut.
