Weekend
Weekend is a Polish band performing music on the border of disco polo, dance and electronic club-oriented pop, founded in 2000 in Sejny by Radosław Liszewski and Tomasz Jakubowski. From the beginning it was a project built around Liszewski as the singer and leader, but the group’s image was also shaped by its dance section, which set Weekend apart from many more traditional disco polo acts. The safest point to treat as the band’s musical debut is spring 2001, when Weekend appeared on Polsat in the program Disco Polo Live. - “Ona tańczy dla mnie” reached number 17 on YouTube’s hit list in 2013, which was an exceptional result for a Polish dance track.
- In April 2016 the same song entered the global Top 100 thanks to 96 million views, which Wikipedia explicitly notes.
