Andrzej Rybiński
Andrzej Rybiński is one of the recognizable figures of Polish popular song in the second half of the 20th century. He was born on 30 October 1949 in Łódź and had a strong musical background from a young age, studying piano at a secondary music school. His move into the professional scene came in the early 1970s. He first co-created 2 plus 1 and, in parallel, in 1971 founded the group Andrzej i Eliza with Eliza Grochowiecka and Zbigniew Hołdys, a band that quickly became an important part of Polish popular music. Over time, it was Andrzej i Eliza that became most closely tied to his stage identity. In 1974, his brother Jerzy Rybiński also joined the line-up, and the band continued until 1981. - Before becoming a recognized singer, he graduated from the secondary music school in Łódź in the piano class.
- In the early 1970s, he co-created 2 plus 1 with Janusz Kruk and Elżbieta Dmoch, but very quickly moved into his own separate project as well.
- In 1971, he founded the group Andrzej i Eliza with Eliza Grochowiecka, who was also his partner at the time.
- After the group ended in 1981, he launched his solo career, and just two years later he won an Opole award for “Nie liczę godzin i lat,” the song most strongly associated with him today.
