Auman
Marcin “Auman” Rdest is a Polish metal vocalist best known as the longtime frontman of Frontside, one of Poland’s key modern metal and metalcore bands. He joined the group in August 2004, replacing original singer Sebastian „Astek” Flasza at a time when Frontside was moving from its hardcore roots towards a more elaborate, melodic metalcore sound. His studio debut with the band was the album „Zmierzch bogów. Pierwszy krok do mentalnej rewolucji”, which showcased his trademark blend of harsh screaming and more melodic, hook driven clean vocals. Artist Trivia
- Before joining Frontside, Auman fronted the band Totem between roughly 2002 and 2006, meaning he entered Frontside as an already established underground metal vocalist.
- His first album with Frontside, „Zmierzch bogów. Pierwszy krok do mentalnej rewolucji”, is often seen by fans as the symbolic beginning of the band’s more melodic era.
- Industry reports note that with Auman in the line up Frontside recorded seven studio full lengths and played „countless shows”, making him a co author of the vast majority of the band’s post 2004 output.
- In an interview with Hardcore Tattoo, Frontside members stated that once Auman joined, they could more confidently incorporate catchy melodies without losing heaviness, precisely because of his vocal style.
