Domowe Melodie was one of the most distinctive Polish independent acts of the early 2010s, built around the core trio of Justyna “Jucho” Chowaniak, Staszek Czyżewski and Kuba Dykiert. The project was launched in 2012 by Chowaniak, who served as the band’s originator, songwriter, composer, vocalist and pianist. Its beginnings were genuinely domestic in more than name alone, because the material was created and recorded in home conditions, and the group immediately embraced an aesthetic of simplicity, intimacy and direct emotional contact. The trio first broke through via the online circulation of “Zbyszek,” followed by the self-released debut album “Domowe Melodie.” What set the band apart on the Polish scene...

Artist Trivia
- One of Domowe Melodie’s earliest breakthroughs was the song “Zbyszek,” whose video grew out of an accidentally recorded rehearsal fragment and quickly turned into an online hit.
- The trio operated independently from the start, without label backing, and self-released its debut album.
- The group literally moved its creative process into an apartment, turning a domestic space into a makeshift recording studio, which became part of its identity.
- “Grażka,” taken from the debut album, entered the Polish Radio Trójka chart at No. 2 and climbed to No. 1 a week later.
