Grzegorz Skawinski
Grzegorz Skawiński, also known as Skawa, is a Polish musician, composer, singer, lyricist, guitarist and producer who has remained one of the most recognisable figures in Polish rock and pop-rock for decades. His standing comes from a rare combination of roles, he helped shape the sound of several major bands while also staying visible as a frontman, instrumentalist and songwriter in his own right. The earliest phase of his musical path goes back to the 1970–1975 period, which the official Skawiński/Tkaczyk site describes as the era of his first bands and performances with Kameleon and Horoskop. The safest clearly documented entry point into the professional circuit is 1975, when he joined Akcenty, a band...
Artist Trivia
- Before entering the professional circuit, he built his first guitar from an old bed board, which says a lot about how early he treated music as more than a casual interest.
- Skawiński’s official website presents Me & My Guitar as his first solo album in many years, highlighting that he kept returning to a personal author-driven format alongside his band work.
- In 2025, O.N.A.’s catalogue finally appeared on streaming platforms exactly 30 years after the release of the band’s first album, giving that part of his legacy a symbolic digital return.
- In 2026, the anniversary Skawiński/Tkaczyk “50 years on stage” tour was announced, showing that his story is framed not only through band names, but also through a long-running artistic partnership with Waldemar Tkaczyk.
