Hedone

Hedone is a Łódź band founded in the early 1990s by Maciej Werk, a vocalist, guitarist, lyricist and producer. The band’s name comes from the Greek word for pleasure. From the beginning, Hedone resisted a single genre label, combining rock, industrial, electronic music, post-punk and atmospheric songwriting. Its music can be both aggressive and melancholic, and the group remains one of the more distinctive projects on Poland’s alternative scene. Hedone’s first major release was the 1994 album “Werk”, issued by MJM Music PL. It combined guitar noise, industrial synthesisers, drum machines and a live rhythm section.
