Kosi, born Marcin Patryk Kosiorek, is one of the important figures of Warsaw’s hip-hop underground and a long-time pillar of JWP/BC. His work includes not only rap, but also graffiti, zine culture, and broader participation in hip-hop as a cultural movement. The safest musical debut date is 1996, because that is the point from which Universal Music’s official bio dates his artistic activity in JWP. For a long time, Kosi was more of a cult figure than a mainstream one, because despite his strong influence on the scene he waited many years before releasing a classic solo album.
Besides JWP/BC, he also worked in projects such as Blackbook with Ero and Jetlagz with Łajzol, which shows that his career grew more through crews and collaborations than through a standard solo path.
He is deeply connected with graffiti culture, and sources note that he co-created the zines “Linja” and “Uwaga” and was associated with magazines such as “Moment” and “Ślizg.”
His solo album debut only arrived in 2021 with “IS.OK,” released through Def Jam Recordings Poland.
