Artist Trivia
- During her studies she formed the all-female quartet For Dee, which won an award at the Student Song Festival in Kraków, an early sign of her artistic independence.
- For Dee later toured Poland with Varius Manx, showing that Stańko moved between jazz circles and a broader mainstream concert audience early in her career.
- In 2000 she co-founded the group 0-58 with guitarist Maciej Grzywacz, and both of the band’s albums, “Do dziesięciu” and “Tryby”, received Fryderyk nominations.
- Her song “Sobie Sami” was featured in Juliusz Machulski’s film “Ile waży koń trojański”, linking her work to Polish cinema beyond the jazz scene.
