Blues RockBluesRock

Krzak emerged in the early 1970s from the Silesian rock environment and stood out from the beginning by building its own musical language without relying on the kind of vocal frontman that defined many bands of the era. The first line-up, with Jan Błędowski, Maciej Radziejewski, Jacek Gazda and Wojciech Grabiński, recorded several tracks for Polish Radio in 1972 to 1974 and was also invited by Czesław Niemen to work on “Aerolit”. The best-known and most definitive version of Krzak operated from 1975 to 1982. At a very early stage Krzak was recruited by Czesław Niemen to record the album “Aerolit”, which shows how quickly the band’s musicians entered the circle of major Polish rock figures.
It is one of the Polish groups that built a lasting legend largely through instrumental music, something relatively rare in local rock during the 1970s and 1980s.
In its classic period the band earned two Gold Records, for “Krzak Blues Rock Band” and “Kawa Blues”, proving that instrumental playing could achieve broad popularity in Poland.
In 1982 and 1983 Krzak evolved from an instrumental trio into a seven-member supergroup involving musicians previously associated with Kasa Chorych, SBB, Baszta and Dżem.
