Weedpecker is a Warsaw-based psychedelic and stoner rock band formed in January 2012, and from the beginning it built a sound where heaviness, psychedelia, and grunge melody met on equal terms. The project originally grew out of the creative partnership between brothers Piotr and Bartek Dobry. The first major recording milestone was the self-titled album “Weedpecker,” released independently in 2013. Even that early record showed the band was not interested in being just another riff-driven stoner act, because dreamy, spacious, and more psychedelic ideas were already central to the material. Weedpecker began as a joint project created by brothers Piotr and Bartek Dobry, which is one of the key starting points in the band’s history.
The early lineup brought together musicians from very different backgrounds, including a former Antigama bassist and a drummer associated with Belzebong.
The 2013 self-titled debut was self-released, and only later was the band’s catalog revisited, reorganized, and reissued in updated forms.
In 2021, the group returned to its debut and released a remixed and remastered edition, which suggests it treats its back catalog as living material rather than a closed chapter.
