Kuba Karaś
Jakub Karaś, is a Polish composer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist best known for The Dumplings and Karaś/Rogucki. He was born in Zabrze in the Silesian region, and he built his musical path without formal training, working as a self-taught artist. His beginnings were not rooted in electronic music right away, because he first played in a metal band. The turning point came when he met Justyna Święs in high school and started working with her in 2011, a collaboration that grew into The Dumplings, one of the key Polish electropop duos of the last decade. - uba Karaś has no formal music education and is self-taught, which is especially notable given that he later became one of the more recognizable producers of his generation in Polish alternative pop.
- Before moving into electronic music, he played in a metal band, so the path toward The Dumplings did not begin with synth-pop but with a much heavier background.
- In 2015, he and Justyna Święs received a Fryderyk award in the Phonographic Debut of the Year category for the launch of The Dumplings.
