Lordofon is a Warsaw-based duo formed in 2018 by Maciej Poreda and Michał Jurek. From the outset, they stood out by refusing to stay inside a single lane, blending rap, urban songwriting, guitar-driven alternative music and pop accessibility. Their earliest confirmed release is “Plastelina EP” from 2019, which Asfalt Records presented as the debut of a highly promising new act. Even at that stage, it was clear that Lordofon approached music as more than a sequence of singles, because the EP arrived with a coherent visual concept built around original animation work. “Plastelina EP” was designed as a compact showcase of the duo’s influences, ranging from rap to guitar-based alternative music, while still presenting them as a coherent act.
Each track from “Plastelina EP” received its own animation by Martyna Koleniec, created with clay stop-motion techniques, which gave the project a distinct visual identity from the very beginning.
Asfalt Records described their debut full-length “Koło” as a return to the duo’s older inspirations and a personal reconstruction of sounds from before their rap background took over.
Their second album was initially supposed to be titled “Wczesna nostalgia”, but it was ultimately released as “Passé”, which reflects how strongly the record was shaped by longing for the recent past.
