Maciej Miecznikowski

Maciej Miecznikowski was born in 1969 in Pobłocie in the Kashubian region of Poland. He graduated from the King Jan III Sobieski High School in Wejherowo and later from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he trained as an opera singer. Before becoming widely recognizable in the media, he moved through very different musical environments. He sang at the Wybrzeże Theatre, performed in punk bands, led a swing ensemble, worked with the DKD cabaret, and spent a year as the vocalist of Püdelsi. His greatest mainstream popularity came through the band Leszcze, which he joined in 2000.
