Romuald Ryszard Lipko was one of the most important composers in Polish popular music, a multi-instrumentalist and a co-creator of Budka Suflera, the band with which his name is most strongly associated. He was born in Lublin on April 3, 1950, and entered the music scene early, forming the band Tramp in 1966 and later creating another group called Stowarzyszenie Cnót Wszelakich. His route into a professional career was unusual, because although he completed primary music education and continued studying, he was expelled from music high school after appearing on a television program.
