Sedes
Sedes is one of the oldest Polish punk bands, originating in Wrocław and especially associated with the Krzyki district, where the group was formed in 1980. From the beginning, the band belonged to the independent punk scene and quickly built a local presence before establishing a regular recording catalogue. The first lineup consisted of Jan “Młody” Siepiela, Adam “Kucharz” Zalewski, Mariusz “Kajtek” Janiak, and Mirosław “Kufel” Wesołowski. That lineup changed very early, because “Kufel” left already in 1980 and “Młody” took over bass, becoming the central figure in the band’s long-term story. Artist Trivia
- In 1980, the band’s first bassist, “Kufel,” left the lineup, and Jan “Młody” Siepiela took over bass duties, becoming not only the band’s voice but also one of its main instrumental pillars.
- One of the group’s first notable successes was winning first prize at the “Muzyczny Start” contest in Wrocław’s Park Południowy.
- Sedes appeared at Jarocin in 1982 and 1983, then returned again in 1984 after lineup changes, which shows how closely the band was tied to the key circulation of Polish punk at the time.
- The band disappeared from the scene in 1985, and after nearly six years it was revived by Jan “Młody” Siepiela, already without the rest of the original lineup.
