Szczyl, born Tymoteusz Rożynek, is a Polish rapper, singer, and lyricist born in Katowice and raised in Gdynia, the city with which he is most strongly associated today. He reached wide recognition in 2021, when he debuted with the album Polska Floryda and quickly became one of the most talked-about new voices in Polish rap. His beginnings were not based on a traditional label-first route.
