Wilki
Wilki is a Polish rock, later pop-rock, band founded in June 1991 by Robert Gawliński, who has remained its leader, main lyricist and defining figure from the very beginning. Artist Trivia
- The debut album Wilki sold more than 220,000 copies, and Wikipedia’s discography now lists it as double platinum, which shows how powerful the band’s launch already was in 1992.
- The death of original bassist Adam Żwirski before the debut album left a real mark on the band’s story, because Robert Gawliński dedicated “Son of the Blue Sky” to him.
- Wilki’s comeback after the break did not begin with a new studio album, but with the 2000 compilation Największe przeboje, which only then led to the reunion of the musicians and the return of the group.
- “Baśka” was not only a major radio hit, because the song also brought Wilki the main prize at the 39th National Festival of Polish Song in Opole.
