Artist Trivia
- In its later phase, Alameda 5 began operating as ||ALA|MEDA||, so its story is not only about sonic evolution but also about a deliberate shift in artistic identity.
- On “Spectra. Vol. 1,” the band explicitly moved away from a rock framework and pushed much further into African and Latin American rhythmic influences that had already been present earlier.
- One of the key ideas behind that phase was batida, an Angolan-derived rhythmic style that the group reworked through industrial, post-punk, gqom, dub and vaporwave elements.
- Alameda 5 built its sound not just on guitars and synthesizers but also on an expanded percussion layer, with djembe, darabukkas and congas listed as part of the “Eurodrome” instrumentation.
