Blog 27 was a Polish pop group formed in 2005 by teenage vocalists Tola Szlagowska and Alicja “Ala” Boratyn, which quickly became one of the most distinctive youth pop phenomena of the 2000s in Poland. The duo came together as close friends, united by their interest in blogging and the fact that both were born on 27 November, which directly inspired the project’s name. Artist Trivia

  • The name Blog 27 directly refers to the founders’ interest in blogging and to their shared birthday on 27 November, making it a rare case where a pop group’s name literally encodes its creators’ personal story.
  • Their debut single “Uh La La La”, a cover of Alexia’s track recorded in a Swedish studio, became one of the first Polish teen pop hits to receive regular airplay on foreign music channels and enter German charts.
  • The album “<LOL>” reached the top of the Polish sales chart and went double platinum, even though it was driven by two around thirteen year old singers, which remains highly unusual for the local market.
  • Blog 27 supported Tokio Hotel during parts of their DACH tour, effectively placing the duo within the core of mid 2000s European teen pop culture at the peak of Tokio Hotel’s popularity.
