Artist Trivia
- Brygada Kryzys’ first widely noted concert at Riviera-Remont was recorded and released in the UK without the band’s consent, giving the group an unusually chaotic beginning.
- The authorities pushed the band to shorten its name to “Brygada K.”, but Brylewski and Lipiński refused, which effectively blocked normal public activity during martial law.
- The 1982 self-titled studio album is still commonly known as the “Black Brigade” or “Black Album” because of its cover, and it remains one of the key records of Polish new wave.
- The band had a real opportunity to record for the Yugoslav label Jugoton, but those plans were derailed by the introduction of martial law in Poland.
