Catz 'n Dogz
Catz 'n Dogz are one of the most important Polish electronic duos of the last two decades, formed by Grzegorz Demiańczuk and Wojciech Tarańczuk, both originally from Szczecin. Their story began in 2003, when they met through radio activity and local parties, still working under the name 3 Channels. In the early phase, they built their reputation as DJs and producers rooted in club culture, with their first releases arriving in 2005. A defining shift came in 2007, when they rebranded as Catz 'n Dogz in order to move beyond the narrow minimal techno tag and give themselves more stylistic freedom. - Before becoming Catz 'n Dogz, they worked as 3 Channels, and the 2007 name change was a deliberate move away from the minimal techno box toward a broader musical identity.
- Their story did not begin in elite clubs, but on a small local scene in Szczecin, where they played for an early audience in a venue described as a pizza restaurant turned nightclub with room for about 300 people.
- The duo run PETS Recordings and its sublabel STEP, which means their role on the scene goes beyond releasing their own music and extends into curating and developing other artists.
- One of their standout remix achievements was “Hush,” which their official bio says stayed at number one on the Beatport Tech House chart for five consecutive months in 2013.
