Entropia is a Polish band from Oleśnica, founded in the autumn of 2007 by Michał Dziedzic, Marek Ceńkar, and Patryk Budzowski. Even in basic descriptions, the group stands out for resisting narrow genre framing, because although it is often placed near post-metal, its music has also drawn from psychedelia, progressive rock, electronics, and shoegaze from the beginning. The band’s earliest clearly confirmed full phonographic debut was “Vesper,” released in February 2013. Entropia is often placed within the post-metal scene, but the sources stress that the band handles metal vocabulary very freely, mixing it with psychedelia, progressive rock, electronics, and shoegaze.
On Bandcamp, the group describes itself simply and clearly as a “psyched metal band,” which shows that the psychedelic aspect of its music is not just a label imposed by critics.
The 2016 album “Ufonaut” reinforced the idea that Entropia was not interested in staying inside one narrow version of heavy music and was building its own cosmic, psychedelic aesthetic language.
“Vacuum,” released on September 28, 2018, is commonly treated as the third major point in the band’s discography and the record that firmly strengthened its recognition.
