• Neolith is a Polish metal band founded in 1991 in Lesko, closely associated with the Podkarpacie scene and with a long-term, steadily built reputation in the national underground. In later sources, the group is also linked with Krosno or described more broadly as a Podkarpackie act, which suggests that its operational base expanded beyond its original early 1990s starting point.
• In its earliest phase, Neolith grew out of death/doom metal, but over time it moved toward death/black metal with thrash elements. That shift does not look like a simple trend adjustment, but rather a gradual sharpening of expression and a more defined identity within extreme metal.
• The band did not build its career according to the classic model of more tours, bigger machinery, and faster output, but instead developed on its own terms. Levi stated openly that Neolith was not a professional band in the organizational sense, because its members balanced music with family life, work, and other projects, and that directly affected the pace of concerts and releases.
• One of the important moments in the group’s history was the lineup change before the album “Immortal,” followed by a contract with The Flaming Arts, which helped the band play more shows. Even so, Neolith did not try to convert that momentum into full-time professionalization, because touring experiences, including shows with Behemoth and trips abroad, convinced the band that it did not want to turn its entire life into permanent road existence.
