Artist Trivia
- The 1989 demo “Revolt” was released not only in Poland through Kaszana Warsaw Factory but also in France by RIT Rec., which was a notable move for a Polish band from that scene and period.
- Very early in its career, Proletaryat built a strong festival reputation, winning the Audience Award and the Journalists’ Award at Jarocin 1989, then adding three more awards there in 1990.
- The song “Hej naprzód marsz” grew into an unofficial Jarocin anthem, which shows how deeply the band became tied to the spirit of late-1980s and early-1990s Polish alternative culture.
- The 1993 album “Czarne Szeregi” marked a major turning point, because after two more punk and new wave leaning records, the band moved more decisively toward a heavier metal sound.
